I have absolutely no idea if anyone even watches this comm anymore ... and rightly so if you'd wandered away permanently into other LJ pursuits, given how long it's lain silent. However, I wanted any residual lurkers to know there is new writing on the way. It'll take me some time, but it's coming.

So much has happened in the last couple of years and it's taken me out of the headspace I needed for writing. I'm happy to say I've rediscovered that well-traveled road and I'm looking forward to sharing it with anyone who's interested :)

OH my goodness! It's so good to see you again.

Hope that all is well!

(there are still a few of us lingering here i'm sure)

Overall, everything is well. Life has taken quite a few twists and turns but I seem to have found a little niche amongst the chaos. It's great to hear from you. How are you?

I hope your niche stays clam!

As far as me, not much just hanging out on tumblr and my shop and waiting for the next star trek movie to come. The rest of my 'real life' is wonderfully, perfectly boring.

And your thoughts on into darkness?

Overall I liked it quite a bit. I liked the characters more than in the first movie; but hated the actual story line. Basically- in the moment i loved it, but once the movie was over and I engaged my brain I felt disappointment.

Most of the disappointment is more along the lines of 'they had 4 years, and that's what they came up with?' Just one of those things where when you spend years in the fandom, you get used to brilliant stories and ideas from the people who love it the most. And really, it would be hard to beat what fans come up with, but they couldn't have given us something other than cliches and retreads and the cultural stereotype versions of the characters?

My Kirk/Spock shipper heart was quite happy with their interactions and I love how it ended with the five year mission just starting. I also loved Sulu and Scotty, and I was very pleasantly surprised by both Uhura and Carol. And while Spock isn't quite where I'd like to see him, i feel that there was a great deal of improvement.

I really enjoyed Benedict Cumberbatch- i only he was someone else (spoilers in link)

The creative muse is so fickle, isn't it? Maybe the tides are turning for all us ficcers out there. The impending release date for STXII hasn't hurt, I admit ;)

I'm looking forward to reading your writing!

Oh babe, this was a lovely message to find. I'm so glad to see what your words are back in your life, seeing this warmed the cockles of my heart, even the sub-cockle area.

Glad that life is being good to you, and it goes without question that I'll always be cheering you on!

Still here, watching and happy to read anything that might come up. Glad to hear you're feeling better again! :-)

Funny how life takes you away from something that was so central to everything at one point (writing). I had plenty of ideas, but no words. Now I have notebooks full of plot, lol ...

I'm still watching... hoping for more 8/Rose!

Wow, that takes me back! :D I'll consider it, but the latest series has killed my DW buzz a little. I need to go back and read those lovely, lovely EDAs again.

Good to know you're still writing. :-) And good to see you here again. I confess I checked once or twice if you posted - in case I missed it -, and I was very sad to find you didn't.

I miss you guys! I had nothing worth posting, trust me ... it's been a drought :/

I'm still following. I was beginning to worry a bit. Glad to see you're alive. :)

Ack, sorry to worry you. Glad to find you here again :)

You were deeply missed...
Glad to know that LNSB is far more than a hapax legomenon :-)

Lol - to be sure!

A new reader here feeling all happy you're alive and writing :DDDD I read Leave no soul behind a week ago (in a week I almost stop doing anything else) and it was my first Star Trek fic and now I find it hard to remember they're not actually epas and life is so confusing, without more of the very best fics I've ever read. So really: THANKS for that! And write! All your way back! And thanks again! And nice to meet you!
Jun. 2nd, 2013 01:41 pm (UTC)
Thanks so much for your lovely words :D It's getting feedback on stories that makes me see the value in writing fanfic - I love the fandoms I write in, and knowing how happy I am to find a good fic makes me grin to think that I created one that people seem to enjoy. Nice to meet you, too - and thanks for reading!

New reader here! I finished Leave No Soul Behind... let's see... about an hour ago. I was floored! (Full reaction on Archive of Our Own. I'm the ~~ Sabrina one)
Glad to hear your headspace is clearing (sorry to hear it was cluttered in the first place, but I understand how life gets in the way of art the same way art upstages it's own rebellions from time to time). As someone who stumbled upon your incredible work yesterday, I can say with reasonable confidence that anything you share will be well received and have plenty of audience. (Just give us a sec to comm all our friends)

Standing by for your next communication!

This comment made my night - thank you! I never expected LNSB would reach such a large audience (it's not exactly a bread-and-butter length or premise), so every time I hear it's hit the spot for someone it really means a lot. Lovely to have you on board - hope you're ready to suit up for the next mission in the upcoming months ;)

Since the rumours were broken
...before I started searching for you outside AO3. Still not a LJ frequenter.

I'm now inside the circle of translators of LNSB (recruited by ironland, who emailed you on June), twelve of us struggling to blaspheme your masterpiece using our dear mother tongue. Besides slang and other ever-existing obstacles for English suckers, the most baffling part is the organization of EPAS and how the Starfleet hierarchy is arranged accordingly, esp. the status of the Prime Division (I found Division the most confusing term throughout the article). May I ask for some explanation? I'll specify the difficulties if you'd like to spare some time (via email maybe?). Nemaiyo.
