confessions of a tardy writer

So way back when LNSB was finished, you'll recall me putting my hand up for a charity fic prompt. Well, no fault of the prompters, but it seems to have been the premise that ATE MY BRAIN. I've started and partially completed so many versions of that charity fic that the only person who can possibly conceive of how many wasted hours I've spent is my poor beta the_arc5 who's coped with my exasperated hand-waving and epic back-spacing.

Good news is, since watching Into Darkness several ideas have slotted neatly into place and I'm busy re-working large sections of stuff I'd written two years ago that I couldn't seem to knit together in any coherent way until this movie. I think it will fulfill the prompt terms, but it's opened up a doorway back into the legitimate STXI universe for this little AU girl. I'd spent so long in the LNSB AU-verse that it was hard to find my way back to canon-AU, if you get what I mean. I'm firmly there now, which is feeling fantastic.

Good news is that it looks like I'll finally cough up my end of the bargain made when several readers generously donated money to the flood relief efforts back in 2011. Bless them. I beg for their forgiveness.

It is well and truly on the road to being a manuscript I can bounce off a beta.

Fascinating. :-)
I'm in the middle of re-reading Leave No Soul because after watching STID, I craved something truly epic. No wonder you could hardly find a way out of there - I feel so comfortable in this verse, too.
And as always, good to hear from you.

I'm so glad to hear this news! (do feel bad about the brain eating bit though)

Glad that that STiD was inspiring!

I just finished LNSB - still in shock from all the EPIC - and I'm ridiculously excited at the thought of more Star Trek fic from your incredibly talented self ♥ Happy writings!

I loved LNSB! For all sorts of reasons, but personal to me is because you put Spock in the center chair.
Jim Kirk as the captain was very much a product of the extrovert ideal and I always always wanted to see what it would've been like with spock there.

I was wondering if you do original writing too? I am fond of your writing to want to read that!

Happy New Year 2014! I have no idea if you're still active in fandom, but I just wanted to repeat how much I enjoyed LNSB and that one Pinto fic. All the best wishes, and may the Muses be with you!

I've just finished LNSB and I'm still too overwhelmed to post a final review. I'm hoping the epic you wrote this post about may also see the light of day sometime soon - more writing from you would be wonderful.

Seconding newaunty here-- LNSB is easily one of the fanworks that I believe belongs on every "this is what you show new fans to hook them" type of list. It has readily and swiftly reignited my love of Star Trek, both the original series and the "new" films. I'm still a bit too incoherent in the aftermath to outline my favorite things about it here, but I plan to very shortly. If you happen to find yourself in a writing/posting way at any point again in the future, I can guarantee you've got yourself a constant reader.
